Jeffrey Whyte

Jeffrey Whyte is a Lecturer in International Relations and (Cyber-Digital) Security at Lancaster University's Department of Politics, Philosophy and Religion. His research critically examines the role of information, knowledge, and communication in warfare, focusing on the historical and contemporary dimensions of psychological warfare and cybersecurity. He holds a PhD in Geography from the University of British Columbia.

Research Interests:

Whyte's work bridges critical military studies, political geography, and cybersecurity. He explores themes such as the political history of psychological warfare, the evolution of cyberwarfare, and the intersection of truth and security in conflict contexts. His projects often integrate archival research with contemporary case studies, such as the Second Cold War and modern cybersecurity challenges.
