Jeffrey S. Seidman

Jeffrey S. Seidman is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at Vassar College, with affiliations in both the Philosophy and Environmental Studies departments. He has been at Vassar since 2004. His research focuses on the ethical responsibilities arising from climate change and the role individuals can play in addressing it. He teaches courses such as 'Finding Your Place in the Climate Fight' and 'History of Western Philosophy: Ancient.'

• Education: BA (1993), St. John’s College; B.Phil. (1999) and D.Phil. (2002) in Philosophy, University of Oxford

Seidman created the public-facing website 'Climate Solutions and Climate Careers,' which expands on his environmental studies coursework. His work bridges philosophical ethics with actionable strategies for climate action. He has held prior academic positions at the London School of Economics (2002–2004).
