Jeffrey Power

Jeffrey Power is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting at the Sobey School of Business, Saint Mary's University. He has been a full-time faculty member since 1995. His research focuses on managerial accounting ethics, activity-based management, and accounting education. He holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from Purdue University and is a highly credentialed professional with designations such as CMA, FCMA, CPA, and FCPA.

Research Interests:

Prof. Power explores ethical dimensions of managerial income manipulation, practical applications of activity-based management, and strategies to enhance student motivation in accounting education. He has authored teaching cases and contributed to accounting case research.

Professional Experience:

Prior to academia, he consulted for the Canadian federal government in cost analysis and long-range planning, and held roles in financial credit analysis at a major investment firm. He has also provided private consulting to construction, retail, non-profits, and public utilities.
