Jeffrey G. Tasker

Jeffrey G. Tasker holds the Catherine and Hunter Pierson Chair in Neuroscience at Tulane University, affiliated with the School of Science & Engineering and the Brain Institute. His research focuses on neuroendocrine mechanisms underlying stress, depression, anxiety, and PTSD, using advanced techniques like patch-clamp electrophysiology, optogenetics, and genetic models.

Research Interests: Investigating synaptic plasticity and hormonal regulation in hypothalamic and amygdala circuits to understand stress-related mental health disorders. Techniques include molecular biology, live-cell imaging, and rodent models.

Awards highlight his contributions to research and teaching, including recognition as Professor of the Year (2009) and Outstanding Researcher (2015).
