Jeff Shearer

Jeff Shearer serves as an Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Communication & Journalism at Auburn University's College of Liberal Arts. He actively contributes to Auburn Athletics through website content creation, communications assistance, and SEC Network play-by-play announcing.

Education: BA in Broadcast News with minor in History from University of Colorado (1988).

Research and Teaching Interests: Specializing in Sports Journalism and Broadcast Journalism, Shearer teaches sports reporting, media relations, and journalism fundamentals. His industry experience directly informs practical instruction in news writing and athletic media coverage.

Professional Background: With 28 seasons covering Auburn athletics, Shearer built a 25-year career at WSFA-TV in Montgomery as sports director and newscast anchor. His broadcasting journey began at KDUH in Nebraska and KSL-TV in Utah, covering collegiate and high school sports across multiple markets.
