Jeff Scheible is a Senior Lecturer in Film Studies at King's College London. His research focuses on cross-disciplinary media studies, digital culture, and the intersection of visual and philosophical concepts. Scheible previously held positions as Assistant Professor of Cinema Studies at SUNY Purchase and as a Banting Postdoctoral Fellow at Concordia University. His work has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Media Ecology Association’s Susanne K. Langer Award and SCMS’s Best Edited Collection Award for his co-edited work Deep Mediations.
His research explores topics such as punctuation’s role in visual culture, depth perception in media, and the relationship between ping pong and moving image history. Scheible’s publications include the influential book Digital Shift: The Cultural Logic of Punctuation (2015), which examines the cultural impact of typographical symbols in the digital age.
