Jean-Pierre Raskin is a Full Professor at the Université catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain), affiliated with the Louvain Polytechnic School (EPL) and the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies, Electronics and Applied Mathematics (ICTEAM). He leads research at the Electrical Engineering Center (ELEN), focusing on RF/mm-wave integrated circuits, semiconductor substrates, and nanomechanics. His work bridges materials science and microelectronics, emphasizing applications in 5G, IoT, and sustainable electronics.
Research interests span:
- RF/mm-wave ICs: Design of FD-SOI-based circuits, substrate engineering for RF losses, and linearity optimization.
- Semiconductor Substrates: High-resistivity silicon, trap-rich layers, and GaN-on-Si technologies.
- Nanomechanics: On-chip testing of thin films, graphene, and amorphous materials for mechanical property characterization.
Recent publications (2023–2025) highlight trends in:
- Advanced material synthesis (nanolaminates, metallic glasses).
- RF substrate optimization for 5G/mm-wave applications.
- On-chip mechanical testing methodologies.
- Biosensor development for pathogen detection.
- Sustainable electronics and IoT ecodesign.
He collaborates with international teams on materials characterization, circuit design, and nanotechnology initiatives.
