Jean M. Bidlack

Dr. Jean M. Bidlack is a Professor and Associate Chair in the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. Her research focuses on opioid receptor pharmacology, neuroimmune interactions, and medication development for cocaine and opioid abuse.

She co-discovered Samidorphan, a compound in phase 3 trials for depression and schizophrenia.

Her laboratory investigates opioid receptor oligomerization and mu-delta heterodimerization, revealing novel mechanisms for analgesia and addiction treatment. Collaborations span institutions like Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Harvard Medical School.
