Jean-Luc Bigras is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Montreal, affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine. He serves as Head of the Cardiology Department at CHU Sainte-Justine and co-directs the CIRCUIT program and Functional Investigation Platform.
Dr. Bigras completed postdoctoral research in echocardiography at Sick Children's Hospital, Toronto and in fetal cardiovascular physiology at the Cardiovascular Research Institute, University of California, San Francisco.
His research focuses on cardiometabolic health, vascular health, and fetal cardiology, utilizing echocardiography and vascular imaging to study pediatric cardiovascular risks, including those from intrauterine growth restriction and BMI-related biases in cardiac assessments. Recent publications highlight advancements in wearable sensor technology and mechanical mapping of arterial stiffness.
