Jean-Jacques Greffet

Jean-Jacques Greffet is a Professor at the Institut d'Optique Graduate School, Université Paris-Saclay, where he serves as permanent staff in the Nanophotonics group within the Plasmonics and quantum nanophotonics team. He is also a senior member of the prestigious Institut Universitaire de France, recognizing his significant contributions to research and teaching in optics and photonics.

Professor Greffet received his PhD in solid state physics in 1988 from Université Paris-Sud and has since established himself as a leading researcher in nanophotonics. His research spans multiple interconnected areas:

• Thermal radiation at the nanoscale - where he discovered that light emitted by hot surfaces can be spatially and temporally coherent
