Jean Danton

Jean Danton is a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Music and Dance at Salem State University. A renowned soprano and Equity actor, she has performed extensively in oratorio, opera, musical theatre, and concert stages across the U.S. and internationally, including collaborations with conductors like Christopher Hogwood and Helmuth Rilling. Her Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center debuts featured Handel's Messiah, and she leads song and music at Saint Mary of the Annunciation Parish in Cambridge, MA.

Jean Danton specializes in classical vocal training, bilingual music education, and crossover performances in jazz, pops, and contemporary genres. She actively premieres works by modern composers and performs with ensembles like the North Shore Philharmonic Orchestra.

Her recent recordings include the holiday album A Very Merry Christmas and the inspirational Thankful, blending traditional and contemporary music with orchestral arrangements. She also co-authored the bilingual children's book Language at Play with companion songs.
