Prof. Dr. Jean-Christophe Merle is a University Professor of Philosophy at Universität Vechta since 2013. His research focuses on Legal Philosophy, Political Philosophy, Kant and German Idealism, Human Rights, and Theories of Justice. He has held visiting professorships at universities including the University of Iceland, Bergen, Pisa, and Fès.
- Education: Habilitation (2005) and Privat-Dozent (2005–2013) at Universität Tübingen; Ph.D. from Universität Freiburg i.Ü, Switzerland (1993).
His work involves international collaborations, particularly with Brazilian and Moroccan institutions, and he supervises Ph.D. candidates in topics like Kantian political philosophy, AI ethics, and social justice.
