Jean Anne Heng is an ESRC Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge’s Department of Psychology, affiliated with the Centre for Child, Adolescent and Family Research. Her work examines early caregiving environments, parent-child interaction dynamics, and child developmental outcomes across diverse cultural and socioeconomic contexts, with a focus on low- and middle-income settings. She employs cross-cultural, longitudinal, and multi-methodological approaches to investigate how caregiving beliefs and practices influence young children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Her research integrates insights from developmental psychology, cultural studies, and public health to address global disparities in early childhood development.
