Dr Jayde Lin Roberts is an interdisciplinary researcher at UNSW Sydney within the School of Arts, Design & Architecture. Her work focuses on the built environment in Asia, particularly Southeast Asia and Myanmar, with an emphasis on urbanism, heritage studies, and the Chinese diaspora.
- Research Activities: Principal investigator in the Southeast Asia Neighborhoods Network and collaborator with Georgetown University’s Asian Cities Initiative and Leiden’s International Institute for Asian Studies.
- Board Memberships: Board member of the Myanmar Research Centre at Australian National University (ANU).
Her research combines spatial ethnography, historical analysis, and ethnographic methods to interrogate urban structures and social infrastructure in Asia’s peri-urban and cityscapes.
- Key Topics: Secular/religious neighborhood construction, displacement in urban contexts, and social infrastructure during societal ruptures.
