Jay Torres is a Lecturer in the Illustration department at ArtCenter College of Design, where he also holds a BFA in illustration with honors. Alongside teaching, he serves as Senior Coordinator for Integrated Studies and First Year Immersion programs. His professional work spans freelance multimedia illustration, editorial illustrations for The Ringer, and client projects for The New Republic, Hero Complex Gallery, Globe and Mail, and Al Majalla Magazine.
Research interests and professional practice focus on pop culture, commercial illustration, horror art, and visual storytelling. His dramatic, shadowy style draws inspiration from 80s horror film posters and illustrators like Maxfield Parrish and Roland Topor.
Exhibitions include 'Ha Ha Cloud Machine' (2017), 'Art Center Pop-Up Berlin' (2018), and 'La Luz De Jesus Gallery' shows (2018-2022).
