Jay Rafi is an Assistant Instructor in the Department of Economics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), affiliated with the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. He holds a BSc in Economics from Universitas Indonesia (2016) and an MSc in Economics from UIUC (2020). His research interests focus on international macroeconomics, with specialization in international finance and monetary economics. He currently teaches Economic Statistics and Econometrics as a co-instructor and serves as the Head Teaching Assistant (TA) for FIN 571: Money and Banking (MBA) and an assistant TA for multiple MBA courses, including ECON 528 and BADM 572.
Rafi has been recognized with the Foreign Student Fulbright Scholarship Program. His teaching roles reflect his expertise in quantitative methods and their application to business and policy analysis.
