About
Jay Pratt is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Toronto, affiliated with the Downtown Toronto (St. George) campus. His research focuses on visual cognition, examining how humans selectively process visual information and how this influences actions, while also investigating the fate of ignored visual stimuli.
Research in his lab spans multiple domains of cognitive science, utilizing methodologies such as attentional tasks, eye-tracking, limb movement analysis, and electrophysiological measurements (EEGs/ERPs). Key areas include attention, inhibitory processes, consciousness, memory, motor control (eye and limb movements), perception, and aging. The work bridges fundamental cognitive mechanisms with their neural underpinnings.
