Javiera Machuca is a Geographer and Doctoral Researcher at the Department of Geography within the South Asia Institute at Heidelberg University. Holding a DAAD scholarship since 2021, her PhD project focuses on 'Technological Hydroscapes in Chile: the introduction of large dams in socio-hydrological systems'. Her research spans water governance, political ecology, human-environment interactions, and science outreach in South America.
