JavierGS is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science and Software Engineering Department at California State University, San Luis Obispo. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Arizona State University (ASU), an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from CINVESTAV, and a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Universidad de Guadalajara. His research focuses on the intersection of software engineering and human-computer interaction, particularly in artificial emotional intelligence, affective computing, and emerging technologies like brain-computer interfaces, AR/VR, and physiological sensors. He has taught courses such as Applied Affective Computing, Software Engineering, and Compilers at multiple institutions, including ASU and Tecnológico de Monterrey.
