Javier Ramón Azcón is a Research Professor at the University of Barcelona and leads the Biosensors for Bioengineering group at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC). His work integrates biosensor technology, nanotechnology, and tissue engineering to develop organs-on-a-chip for drug testing and disease modeling. He has held positions at Tohoku University (Japan) and was promoted to Assistant Professor at the Advanced Institute for Materials Research (AIMR) before joining IBEC as a Ramón y Cajal researcher in 2015.
