Javad Chamanara is a PostDoc researcher at the Joint Lab of TIB (German National Library of Science and Technology) and L3S Research Center, part of Leibniz University Hannover. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Friedrich Schiller University Jena (Germany), an M.Sc. in Software Engineering from the University of Polytechnic Tehran (Iran), and a B.Sc. in Software Engineering from the University of Science and Culture Tehran (Iran). His research focuses on distributed semantic research data management systems, heterogeneous data processing, and query languages like QUIS. He developed the JenPlane data lifecycle model to address limitations of traditional scientific data management frameworks.
Key contributions include leading ontology development for 21 geo-related fields through a national project, architecting BExIS (a widely-used research data management system), and co-chairing the Research Data Alliance's Variable Interoperability Working Group. His work emphasizes data integration, conceptual modeling, and semantic interoperability in industrial and academic contexts.
Current projects include advancing the Boost 4.0 Core Ontology and research data management systems at TIB/L3S. Active in open science initiatives, his work is documented on GitHub, LinkedIn, and ORCID platforms.
