Jautrīte Briede

Jautrīte Briede serves as a Professor in the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law at the University of Latvia's Faculty of Law, teaching Administrative Law, Administrative Procedure Law, and related courses. Concurrently, she holds a judicial position as a Judge of Latvia's Constitutional Court since 2022, following 18 years as a Supreme Court Judge (2004-2022).

Her research centers on Administrative Procedure Law with emphasis on procedural rights, constitutional dimensions of administrative justice, and practical applications in public procurement. She examines theoretical frameworks and real-world implementations, particularly regarding interim measures and the balance between state authority and individual rights within administrative processes.

Scholarly output reveals consistent engagement across legal domains including criminal procedure, competition law, and labor regulations, demonstrating interdisciplinary analysis of procedural fairness and constitutional review mechanisms in Eastern European legal contexts.
