Jason Yaremko

Jason Yaremko is a Professor in the Department of History at the University of Winnipeg, part of the Faculty of Arts. His research focuses on Latin America and North America, with special emphasis on comparative colonization, indigenous histories, intercultural relations, and transculturation. He teaches courses on Indigenous history in Canada and Latin America, including topics like colonialism, treaties, and diasporic indigenous communities.

He has published extensively on topics such as Maya and Taíno diasporas in Cuba, indigenous resistance to colonial rule, and the intersection of missionary activities with political hegemony.
