Jason Vasser-Elong

Jason Vasser-Elong is an Assistant Teaching Professor at the Pierre Laclede Honors College of the University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL). He holds an MFA in Creative Writing from UMSL and a bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology, and is currently pursuing a PhD at UMSL. His academic background bridges literary arts and anthropological studies.

Research interests include creative writing, poetry, and cultural narratives, reflected in his 2018 poetry collection Shrimp. He has taught in English departments at Harris-Stowe State University and Webster University, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to literature and culture.
