Jason Roach

Jason Roach is Professor of Psychology and Policing at University of Huddersfield, serving as Director for the Secure Societies Institute and Editor of The Police Journal. His research bridges psychology and criminology with practical policing applications.

Research specialization includes:

• Cognitive aspects of investigative decision-making
• Police officer wellbeing and stress management
• Crime prevention through environmental design
• Self-selection policing methodologies

Publications examine homicide investigation challenges, police mental health impacts, and innovative crime reduction strategies. Current projects include studies on police wellbeing during COVID-19 and community-based burglary prevention. As Director of Applied Criminology and Policing Centre, leads evidence-based policing research initiatives with law enforcement partners.
