About
Jason R. Themanson, Ph.D., is a Professor at Illinois Wesleyan University affiliated with the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience Program. His research bridges cognitive neuroscience and sports performance, with dual foci: 1) self-regulatory cognitive processing influenced by situational/motivational factors during tasks, and 2) neural activation patterns during dynamic sports performance (primarily baseball) to understand attentional shifts and behavioral outcomes.
Research Interests: His interdisciplinary work integrates cognitive psychology, neuroscientific methods, and sports science to examine how neural processes underpin real-time performance. Key areas include cognitive task engagement, feedback processing, and neurobehavioral adaptations in athletic contexts.
