Jason R. Taylor

Dr. Jason R. Taylor is a Professor of Chemistry at Roberts Wesleyan College's School of Natural & Social Sciences, where he serves as Chair of the Biological & Chemical Sciences department. His academic career spans research in analytical chemistry, nanotechnology, and biomedical applications, with a focus on DNA analysis and environmental toxicology.

• Courses Taught: Principles of Chemistry II, Biochemistry, Instrumental Analysis, and seminars in chemistry.
• Education: Ph.D. in Reading Education from Syracuse University, M.Ed. in Childhood Literacy, and B.S. in Elementary Education from St. Bonaventure University.

His research involves nanoparticle-based biomolecular detection, trace analysis in environmental samples, and interdisciplinary approaches combining chemistry with public health. Publications highlight collaborations with students on cocaine residue in currency and water quality studies.

Dr. Taylor actively mentors students through senior honors theses and integrates community service into his work, leading Habitat for Humanity projects with students annually. He also contributes to campus ministry through Bible studies and worship leadership at Calvary Assembly in Chili, NY.
