Jason R. Klugman serves as Director of the Princeton University Preparatory Program under the Emma Bloomberg Center for Access & Opportunity at Princeton University. Formerly a Lecturer and Program Associate in the Program in Teacher Preparation (2004–2017), he continues teaching occasionally in the Department of Anthropology. He advises programs at the Pace Center for Civic Engagement and acts as an Academic-Athletic Fellow for Princeton’s Men’s and Women’s Varsity Swimming and Diving Teams.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Education, Culture, and Society from University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education (2004)
- M.A. in Secondary Education, University of Pennsylvania (dates unspecified)
- B.A. in Political Science from Johns Hopkins University
Research focuses on college access and success, urban education systems, and teacher preparation. He has presented widely on these topics at academic conferences and published work recognized by the 2015 John B. Muir Award. Prior to Princeton, he taught high school history in West Philadelphia and led college/career advising there (2001–2004).
His advocacy spans educational equity and civic engagement, with direct involvement in both academic and athletic student support systems at Princeton.
