Jason Jean

Jason Jean is an Instructor at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. He has been affiliated with Vanderbilt Nursing since 1995 and holds a DNP from Vanderbilt University, alongside an MSN from Vanderbilt and a BSN from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville.

His academic interests focus on primary care, urgent care, rural healthcare, cardiovascular preventative care, and clinical coding/documentation. He is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Preventative Cardiovascular Nurses Association.

Professionally, Jean has served as a bedside critical care nurse, nurse practitioner in primary and cardiology care, researcher, administrator, and corporate executive (Cigna & HCA). His personal interests include family life, outdoor activities (baseball coaching, camping, fly fishing), and balancing professional and personal pursuits.
