Jason Jabbari

Jason Jabbari is an Assistant Professor at the Brown School of Washington University in St. Louis, where he leads the education research portfolio at the Social Policy Institute. His work focuses on how policies, programs, and social/environmental contexts shape equity and excellence in education and economic trajectories. As Associate Director of Community Partnerships, he collaborates with organizations to address social issues. His research spans education policy, STEM workforce development, food security interventions, and the impacts of disciplinary practices on marginalized students.

Research interests include the sociology of education, economics of education, and environmental health's role in youth development. Key projects include evaluating coding apprenticeship programs (e.g., LaunchCode), analyzing school discipline disparities, and designing food-is-medicine initiatives like FreshRx. His work has been funded by Ascendium, McDonnell Foundation, and others.

Publications emphasize structural inequities in education systems, labor market outcomes for non-degree credential holders, and interventions to reduce disparities. He received the CORTEX EdHub Fellowship to develop a web tool linking job seekers with upskilling programs.
