Jason J Ripley serves as Associate Professor of Religion and Department Chair at St. Olaf College, maintaining office hours Monday/Wednesday/Thursday 9-10am and by appointment in Old Main 220A. - PhD in New Testament from Princeton Theological Seminary
Research centers on New Testament Studies with specialized focus on the Gospel of John within Roman Imperial contexts, Pauline theology, early Jewish literature/history, and Genesis 22 interpretation in early Judaism. He actively explores biblical reception across cultural mediums including art, literature, film, music, and political discourse. Dr. Ripley has led significant international programs: St. Olaf's Global Semester (2017), Religion/Politics/Society in Jerusalem and Athens (2023), and January term trips to Greece/Turkey examining Religion and Empire.
