Dr. Hunt's research focuses on Discrete Mathematics, particularly Graph Theory and Combinatorics. He emphasizes accessible problems for student collaboration and works with colleagues across the Mathematics Department and School of Business.

As advisor to the Math Club, he mentors students in extracurricular mathematical activities and has led teams to compete in Math Jeopardy contests at the Southeastern Regional MAA meetings.

He maintains a holistic approach to teaching mathematics across all curriculum levels and integrates his personal interests in farming and Border Collie training into his academic work.
