Jason Eklund serves as an Instructor of Music Theory and Artist Affiliate in Horn at Emory University. He holds a Master of Music in Performance from Southern Methodist University (2000) and a bachelor's degree from the University of New Mexico (1998, summa cum laude). His professional roles include principal/second horn positions with the Atlanta Ballet Orchestra, Atlanta Opera Orchestra, Georgia Symphony Orchestra, and Columbus Symphony Orchestra.
His performance career spans engagements with orchestras such as the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and Charleston Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed as a soloist with ensembles including the Tucson Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and Kennesaw State University Wind Ensemble.
Jason has participated in prestigious festivals like the Aspen Summer Music Festival, Interlochen Arts Camp, and Sarasota Music Festival. His primary teachers included Jacqueline Sellers, Stanislav Suchanek, and others. He is based at Emory University’s Burlington Road Building, Room 326.
