Jason C. Yarbrough

Jason C. Yarbrough serves as Associate Professor, Department Head of Chemistry and Physics, and Ross Wilson Endowed Chair within West Texas A&M University's Paul Engler College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences. He joined the faculty in 2014 after nine years as Senior Research Chemist at Sealed Air Corporation's Cryovac division.

Research Interests: Dr. Yarbrough's work bridges organometallic and polymer chemistry, focusing on catalyst design for functional polymer synthesis. His projects target sustainable applications including carbon dioxide utilization and environmentally benign marine antifouling materials, reflecting strong industry-academia translational research.

Academic Leadership: He teaches comprehensive chemistry curricula spanning Introductory/General Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Advanced Inorganic Chemistry, and graduate Quantum Chemistry courses. As an Honors Faculty member, he instructs specialized Honors Chemistry sequences. His industrial R&D experience informs patent development (multiple US/international patents) and ACS section leadership where he served as Secretary and Chair for the Amarillo chapter.
