Jason Brown is a Professor of Sculpture at the University of Tennessee since 2001. His work integrates sculpture, performance, and installation to interrogate human relationships with the environment and social structures. He emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration across ecology, architecture, and landscape design.
Education: MFA in Sculpture from Rhode Island School of Design (1999).
Research Focus: Explores transitional spaces through large-scale public installations, particularly addressing environmental impacts of energy extraction and post-industrial landscapes. Recent projects examine mountaintop removal mining in Appalachia and consumer culture's ecological costs.
