Jason Boron is a Lecturer in Music Education at Edith Cowan University (ECU), coordinating undergraduate and postgraduate units in early childhood and primary music education. He holds leadership roles as President of Kodály Australia and the Academic Staff Association of ECU, and serves on the University Education Committee. His teaching and research are informed by over 15 years of experience in music education across schools, universities, and community programs.
Jason holds a Master of Arts in Kodály Music Pedagogy (Hungary, 2016) and certifications in Kodály, Orff-Schulwerk, and Feierabend methodologies. He has led professional development initiatives such as the Musical Foundations program for South Australia’s Department of Education and the Perth Australian Kodály Certificate Course.
His research focuses on music education pedagogy, teacher training, and curriculum design. Notable publications include studies on queer theory in teacher education and primary specialization outcomes. He has secured $20,000 in research funding for a project on music teacher professional development and wellbeing (2024–2026).
Awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Staff Excellence Award for Innovative Teaching (2020), Jason is also an active choral conductor with the West Australian Young Voices (WAYV). His professional affiliations include ISME, ANZARME, and the International Kodály Society.
