Jason Azoulay

Dr. Jason Azoulay is an Associate Professor of Chemistry and Materials Science and Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology. He holds the Georgia Research Alliance Vasser-Woolley Distinguished Investigator title in Optoelectronics and co-directs the Center for Organic Photonics and Electronics. Prior to joining Georgia Tech, he was an Associate Professor at The University of Southern Mississippi. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from UC Santa Barbara and completed postdoctoral research at Sandia National Laboratories.

His research integrates synthetic chemistry, materials science, and engineering to develop next-generation functional materials. Key areas include conjugated polymers for optoelectronics, catalytic polymer synthesis, chemical sensors for environmental monitoring, and device engineering. His work has led to advancements in infrared photodetection, supercapacitors, and magnetic materials.

Prof. Azoulay has directed interdisciplinary initiatives in conjugated polymers and optoelectronics. His accolades include the 2017 Nokia-Bell Labs Prize and a Department of Energy Early Career Award. His group operates state-of-the-art facilities for materials synthesis, characterization (optical/electronic), and device fabrication. Current opportunities include postdoctoral, graduate, and undergraduate research roles.
