Jason Archer

Jason E. Archer is Assistant Professor of Communication and Media Technologies at Michigan Technological University's Department of Humanities. His research investigates haptic media, human-machine communication, and sensory dimensions of emerging technologies. Archer explores how touch interfaces, holographic systems, and social robots reconfigure human experience.

Recent work analyzes haptic holograms' societal implications and tactile design in robotics. He co-developed frameworks for understanding 'technical materiality' in sensory media.

Archer presented at Uncommon Senses conferences and published on visio-haptic apparatuses. His teaching integrates media theory with critical technology studies.
