Jasmine English

Jasmine English is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Reed College. She previously served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University’s Center on Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law. She earned her PhD in Political Science from MIT in 2024 and holds a B.A. summa cum laude from UCLA in Political Science and Economics.

Her research focuses on American political behavior, the politics of identity, and the carceral state, with publications in top-tier journals including the American Political Science Review and Perspectives on Politics. She has received multiple awards for her work, notably the Carrie Chapman Catt Prize and the Lucian Pye Award.
