Jasmine DeJesus

Jasmine DeJesus is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG), where she directs the Development, Culture, and Health Lab focused on child development from infancy through early adolescence.

Her educational background includes:

• Ph.D. in Psychology, University of Chicago
• B.A. in Psychology, Harvard University

Her research investigates children's social attitudes, reasoning about cultural groups, food preferences, eating behavior, and early health concepts, emphasizing how cultural contexts shape developmental trajectories in health cognition and social understanding.

Dr. DeJesus mentors undergraduate students through PSY 433: Research Experience in Psychology and accepts doctoral/master's student applications for Fall 2025 enrollment.

The Development, Culture, and Health Lab conducts in-person studies at Eberhart Building #574 and online research exploring intersections of culture, health behaviors, and social cognition in childhood development.
