Jarrett Welsh

Dr. Jarrett Welsh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Classics at the University of Toronto. He has been affiliated with the department since 2009 and is also a member of the Centre for Medieval Studies and University College. His academic journey includes a BA in Classics from Davidson College and a PhD from Harvard University.

• Research Focus: Republican Latin literature, Roman comedy, fragmentary texts, and textual transmission methods
• Teaching: Courses on Roman comedy, satire, didactic poetry, and graduate-level studies in Latin literature
• Key Projects: Editing Latin fabulae togatae remains and analyzing textual traditions of Festus, Paulus Diaconus, and Nonius Marcellus
