Jarrett Mentink

Jarrett Mentink is an Assistant Professor of Physical Education at Seattle Pacific University’s Health and Human Performance Department. He has taught at SPU since 1995, offering courses in sports psychology, coaching seminars, and physical activity administration.

• Education: BA (University of Washington, 1993); MA (Washington State University, 1998); PhD (Washington State University, 2001).

Research & Publications: Dr. Mentink focuses on integrating moral development into children’s literature through sports biographies, founding Kids in the Clouds to distribute educational books on airlines. His works, such as The Rise of King Felix and Alexander the Great, emphasize perseverance and gratitude while supporting charities like Seattle Children’s Hospital.

Public Engagement: He delivers anti-bullying speeches at elementary schools across the Northwest, California, and Arizona, incorporating Christian teachings. His 2006 South Puget Sound League Coach of the Year award reflects his leadership in athletics.
