Dr. Jared M. Porter is a Professor in the Department of Kinesiology, Recreation, and Sport Studies (KRSS) at the University of Tennessee, part of the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences. He holds editorial roles in the Journal of Motor Learning and Development and the International Journal of Motor Control and Learning. His research focuses on motor skill learning mechanisms, including how virtual/augmented reality, cognitive load, and attentional focus influence skill acquisition and performance in military, rehabilitation, and sport contexts.
Dr. Porter earned a PhD in Motor Behavior and Cognitive Psychology from Louisiana State University and a BS in Kinesiology and Biology from the University of Central Missouri.
