Jared Lemus

Jared Lemus is a Visiting Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, holding the Kenan Visiting Writer position. He earned an MFA in Fiction from the University of Pittsburgh (2022), an MA in English (pending) from Mississippi State University (2019), and a BA in Psychology from the University of Arkansas Little Rock (2017). His work bridges creative writing, Latina/Latino literature, and narrative experimentation.

Publications include the forthcoming short story collection Guatemalan Rhapsody (Ecco-HarperCollins, 2025) and stories in The Atlantic, The Kenyon Review, and Story. His writing often explores themes of cultural identity, familial bonds, and socio-political narratives. Recent works emphasize layered character development and hybrid narrative forms.
