Jared Branch is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Utah's College of Social and Behavioral Science. His research focuses on learning and memory, particularly large-scale replications and their impact on critical thinking, as well as counterfactual thinking processes. He earned his B.A. from the University of Utah (2008) and Ph.D. from Bowling Green State University (2020).
Dr. Branch investigates how remembering the past and imagining future scenarios relate to counterfactual thinking. His lab develops assessment tools to measure these cognitive processes in daily life and examines educational outcomes from student involvement in replication studies. Research trends in his publications show consistent focus on memory mechanisms, educational psychology, and mental health disparities.
