Dr. Janok Bhattacharya holds the Susan Cunningham Research Chair in Geology at McMaster University's School of Earth, Environment & Society. An internationally recognized expert in sedimentary systems, his research focuses on deltaic and fluvial sedimentology, sequence stratigraphy, and source-to-sink analysis.
Research Themes: Ancient delta architecture, stratigraphic controls on reservoir quality, tectonic influences on sedimentation patterns, and sequence development in greenhouse climate periods. Field-based studies span Cretaceous systems in North America and modern analogues.
