Janine Jones is an Associate Professor in the Philosophy Department at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). Her research focuses on intersections of imagination, language, socio-ontological reality, race, and gender. She teaches courses including Introduction to Philosophy, Philosophy of Race and Gender (cross-listed with Women's and Gender Studies), Philosophy of the Arts, and Philosophy of Mind.
Education: Ph.D. in Philosophy from UCLA. Research interests span Philosophy of Mind, Philosophy of Race, and Gender Studies. She co-edited Pursuing Trayvon Martin: Historical Contexts and Contemporary Manifestations of Racial Dynamics (Lexington 2012). Her recent work critiques representations of Black, Gay, and Male identities in film and societal structures.
