Professor Janice Kiely is the co-founder and director of the Institute of Bio-sensing Technology (IBST), part of the Faculty of Environment & Technology at the University of the West of England. She holds a Royal Academy of Engineering Enterprise Fellowship and leads the IBST's flagship international conference on bio-sensing technology, sponsored by Elsevier. Her research focuses on developing novel bio-sensing instrumentation, with over 20 industry-academic collaborations in the past five years.
