Janice Almasi is Carol Lee Robertson Endowed Professor of Literacy Education at University of Kentucky, specializing in comprehension development and peer discussion environments. Her research examines strategic reading processes and effective literacy instruction.
She earned PhD from University of Maryland and held postdoctoral fellowship at University of Pittsburgh. Current IES-funded project designs narrative comprehension interventions for struggling readers with ADHD risks. Former president of the Literacy Research Association, she has published extensively on discussion-based literacy approaches.
