Janette Lindesay

Professor Janette Lindesay is a climate scientist at the Fenner School of Environment & Society, ANU. She holds a Visiting Professorship at the University of Tokyo and is affiliated with the ANU Climate Change Institute since its founding. Her expertise spans climate variability, adaptation strategies, and education pedagogy around climate science.

Education:

• Honours in Geography, University of the Witwatersrand
• Postgraduate Teaching Diploma
• Doctorate in statistical and dynamical climatology

Research Interests: Focuses on low-frequency rainfall fluctuations, Australian bushfire/drought climatology, and integrating climate science into academic/professional curricula. Engages in policy-relevant studies through initiatives like the Zero Carbon Energy for the Asia-Pacific Initiative.

Affiliations: Fellow of professional meteorological societies and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK). Active in curriculum development for environment and society programs at ANU.
